New Michigan Grant Opportunities Open, Applications Due 8/31
Two grant programs through the State of Michigan are accepting applications or letters of intent:
- Rural Readiness Grant, Round 2. Through Michigan Office of Rural Development. The Office of Rural Development Rural Readiness Grant Program (RRGP) provides rural communities (via tax-exempt organizations) with up to $50,000 to support collaborative planning and capacity initiatives. These competitive, reimbursement grants support and invest in underserved areas and populations by providing reimbursement grant funding for capacity building activities, development readiness initiatives, partnership and plan formation, and cross sector collaboration.

- Community Center Grants. Through Department of Labor & Economic Opportunity.The Michigan Department of Labor and Economic Opportunity announced the availability of up to $60 million in Community Center Grant program funds for Michigan municipalities and organizations to expand programming or work on capital projects. These grants build on Gov. Whitmer’s ‘Make it in Michigan’ strategy to win projects, invest in people and revitalize places, with two types of grants available – program grants and capital project grants. Applicants may apply for both grants, but the total request from one organization cannot exceed $2.5 million.
