Glen Arbor Arts Center
Manual Photography Basics Classes – VIRTUAL
Date: October 22 and 29, November 5
Time: 6:00pm-7:00pm EST
Registration Deadline: October 18, 2023
Location: Online via ZOOM
Take your photos to the next level and enter the word of manual photography. Via ZOOM, Teaching Artist Maureen Janson Heintz will offer guidance and individual attention while teaching you how to shoot in manual mode on your DSLR camera. (It’s not that scary, Maureen promises.) You will receive a ZOOM link a few days before class.
You’ll cover the basics of shutter speed, aperture, and ISO and discuss lenses and their uses. Then you’ll move onto compositional ideas, discuss natural and Studio lighting, and explore the use of a few more functions on the camera. You’ll take on photography assignments between class meetings, and we’ll share our learning and successes.
You will come away with a solid starting point for manual mode shooting extending well beyond the automatic capabilities of your camera. All sessions will be geared toward individual interests and skill levels, although the class will start with the basics.
