Great Lakes Chamber Orchestra

Rockin’ with the GLCO Pops at 7 pm Tuesday, July 19th at Great Lakes Center for the Arts features internationally popular vocal group Rockapella with their full-band a cappella sound. The group will also collaborate with the Great Lakes Chamber Orchestra for favorites from Elton John to Three Dog Night.
The concert includes two other exciting orchestral works based on dance music of Mexico.
Huapango by Moncayo is a classic with exciting, rhythmic percussion and brass.
Danzon by Marquez is one of the most popular Mexican contemporary classical pieces, with a dance form that originated in Cuba and became part of the folklore of Veracruz.
