Artist Call: TC Art Walk, 5/3

Downtown Traverse City is planning its spring art walk on Friday, 5/3, 4-7pm. The Network is partnering with the Downtown Traverse City Association to help match artists with shops seeking to feature artists that night and art displays through the weekend. Artists interested in participating should sign up here. 
Participants are expected to participate for the full Art Walk time – 4-7pm – and are expected to provide their own easels and related display items. You will be matched with a business and then work directly with them to work out display details. Cross promotion is encouraged. Art sales are allowed, commission free. Summit Registration Underway – 5/7 @ ICA

Registration is underway for the 2024 Northwest Michigan Arts & Culture Summit The Power in Our Partnerships – slated for Tuesday, 5/9 8:30-3:30 at Interlochen Center for the Arts. Join the region’s annual convening to further arts and culture in Northern Michigan. Info, schedule, speakers, sponsorships, and registration are available here.
Cost to attend the Summit is free for members or $30 for non-members. Scholarships are available. Registration fee can be applied to a new membership for individuals or organizations. Capacity Building

Blue Star Registration Opens

Registration is now open for the National Endowment for the Arts’ Blue Star Museums Program. The program encourages museums, historic houses, zoos, botanical gardens, etc. to offer free admission to active-duty military personnel and their families. The program will launch on May 18 and run through Labor Day. More on Blue Star Museums here.  Register to participate here.

Impact 100 Grant Sessions

Virtual grant training sessions are available on 4/3 and 4/9 for any nonprofit organizations in the 5-county Grand Traverse region who is interested in applying for an Impact100 this spring. Training explains grant submission and review process as well as Q&A. Sessions and links for sign up are:

On April 2, the National Endowment for the Arts launches its new arts indicators project—a special suite of data and tools for measuring arts activity with a webinar introducing the tools and how to access them. Registration is free, Link Here.

Submission Deadline 4/20

Michigan Writers and the Northwest Michigan Arts & Culture Network continue to accept submissions for its MACC Community Partners grant project to create, share, read, and publish pieces rooted in the transformational power of the arts. Submissions are being sought for nonfiction works up to 1,200 words. Deadline is: April 20, 2024  

Pieces will be published online, in print and showcased at readings May-August. We look forward to previewing the first pieces at the Summit on 5/7. Info & Link to submit is here. 

AI for Nonprofits – 4/18 Zoom
