MCACA Grant Announcements FridayCouncil Meets 10/22, 1pm – Log-in & LinksMichigan Council for Arts & Cultural Affairs will meet to approve and announce its FY22 grant awards on Friday, 10/22, beginning at 1pm via Zoom. Once council members have approved the proposed funding plan, MCACA will post a link to MCACA website (links will be located at the bottom of the home page) which will list grant awards by program and by county. This link will be live within 2 hours of the close of the council meeting that day, as well as posted in the chat during the meeting. Those organizations awarded an FY22 grant will also receive a formal contract emailed to them via the SmartSimple system after the council meeting. Dennos NW MI Juried ShowThe 2022 Northwestern Michigan Juried Show is now open for submissions. Held regularly at the Dennos Museum Center for 30 years, the exhibition features art made by regional artists over the last year and juried by an arts professional outside of the region. Calling Emerging ArtistsCrooked Tree Arts Center is pleased to present the Merry Marketplace, held indoors at Crooked Tree Arts Center in Traverse City, Michigan, December 2021. An art fair, holiday celebration, and all kinds of fun – CTAC-TC will be transformed into a holiday shopping market with artists’ booths, holiday art workshops and more. New Community Partners GrantsDeadline is 11/1 at 5pm for the new MCACA & Arts Midwest Community Partners Grant program. program, designed to strengthen communities by encouraging them to work collaboratively with artists and culture bearers to explore local issues, where collaborative art-making is integral to daily lives and is valued as a tool for community development.
