GLCO presents The Traverse Quartet 9/11
Free Sunday Series Concert from the Great Lakes Chamber Orchestra’s Traverse Quartet
The Traverse Quartet from the Great Lakes Chamber Orchestra (GLCO) will perform a free concert on Sunday, September 11 at 4 p.m. at Emmanuel Episcopal Church, 1020 E. Mitchell St., Petoskey. The public concert is the first of the GLCO 2022/23 season’s Sunday Series, which brings small orchestra ensembles to neighborhood venues across Charlevoix and Emmet counties.
The Traverse Quartet features Elizabeth Bert (cello), Kaylee Erlewein (violin), Lynn Hansen (oboe) and Ann Schoelles (viola).
A variety of music will be performed from several genres, including classical, jazz and pop. Among the program’s songs are Mozart’s Adagio in G Major, Haydn’s Divertimento, Lennon & McCartney’s When I’m Sixty-four, Gershwin’s I Got Rhythm, Duke Ellington’s In a Sentimental Mood, and John Rutter’s A Gaelic Blessing. A variety of other songs will also be performed.
