Exhibit: By Hand

March 29 @ 12:00 am - May 30 @ 12:00 am

Human hands with their dexterous, opposable thumbs have allowed us to innovate, to use tools, to become nimble, skillful, creative and artful makers. The Glen Arbor Arts Center By Hand project is a consideration of the myriad ways the human hand is intrinsic to creative work; and a demonstration of what human hands can make. The By Hand project offers a range of programs that explore this theme through the visual, performing, architectural, and literary arts. In a time of machine dominance, there is case to be made that right now is the perfect moment to celebrate making-by-hand. The By Hand project challenges this techno-centric time in these programs: By Hand: the exhibition, March 29 – May 30 during gallery hours. By Hand Lecture: Architecture, April 13, 1 pm
By Hand Lecture: Making Music, April 20, 1 pm
By Hand Lecture: Artificial Intelligence In The Arts, May 4, 1 pm. By Hand exhibitors are: Kimberly Bazemore, Mercedes Bowyer, Kathy Brady, Barbara Bushey, Michael Cotter, Sharon Gill, Susan Glass, Debbie Grifka, Marcia Guetschow, Debra Howard, Kristin Hurlin, John Huston, Alyssa Brieanne Jordan, Dawnice Kerchaert, Dani Knoph Davis, Steve Kostyshyn, Clay Maas, Nancy McRay, Susan Moran, Gerald Mulka, Elijah Nykamp, Nick Preneta, Denise Samuels, Angela Saxon, Judith Shepelak, Rene Stratton, Katie Virag, Deborah Wood.
