Intercontinental Biennial of Indigenous Ancestral Art on August 9-18, 2024- Volunteers Needed

The Presbyterian Church of Traverse City will be hosting the Intercontinental Biennial of Indigenous Ancestral Art on August 9-18, 2024.  This exciting art show will include some local indigenous artists as well as art from multiple countries in South and North America. This show will continue to build our relationship with Indigenous people and will be a chance to meet world class muralist Gustavo Toquica.

Volunteers are needed to help host the show, along with the Executive Director, Jorge Cevallos during the hours the show is open 10 AM to 4 PM. Attached is a link to Google Sheets for sign up for two hour shifts from August 10th - August 18th.  Just click on the link and you will be able to type your name in the slot you are willing to volunteer.  The show will be open to the public so we want to have church members be a part of a welcoming presence.  You don't have to know anything about the art... Jorge can help them with that and any sales,  BUT... you could thank them for coming and briefly tell them what your church means to you!

The Deacons will have volunteers to host the opening night on August 9th, along with music by some Nexus musicians, and refreshments.
