Up North Arts Art Fair Coordinator Job Description
Part-Time
Salary: $4,000-$5,000

Purpose of Position:
Up North Arts is looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic Art Fair Coordinator for our annual Phyllis Olson Juried Art Fair.
This position is a part time position reporting to the Executive Board and working closely with volunteers and other
committees. The primary focus of the position is to coordinate and execute aspects related to the participation of artists
and all supporting events. Additionally, the position will include marketing and social media responsibilities. Hours are
flexible around specific deadlines and prescribed timeframes, increasing as the Art Fair approaches each July.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


APPLICATION MANAGEMENT/MARKETING:
● Review and manage incoming artist applications using an on-line application management system.
● Work with the Executive Director to publicize and promote the Art Fair and attending artists, as well as increase
the number of applications.


ARTIST COMMUNICATIONS:
● Create and send correspondence regarding artist acceptance or denial.
● Correspond with artists and manage requests prior to the event.
● Manage on-site artist needs during set-up, the event, and tear-down.
● Collect and manage a database of attending artists for future communications and follow-up surveys while
working with the Executive Director to ensure comments are cataloged and recorded.


JURY PROCESS:
● Communicate and coordinate the juror’s participation in the jury process.
● Identify and correspond with jurors.
● Organize and complete the jury process.
● Tabulate scores from the jury process.
● Organize and oversee the Art Fair artist awards.


SOCIAL MEDIA:
● Create and post content to social media accounts as applicable.
● Create and send periodic marketing content to increase applications and attendees of event.


ON-SITE:
● Work with volunteers to lay out the event, with primary emphasis on artist booths.
● Communicate with artists and solve problems as they arise.
● Coordination of community volunteers that will be working the event.
● Communicate with a variety of local vendors for services required during the event.
Qualifications:
● Previous event coordination experience preferred.
● Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
● Ability to multi-task.
● Self-directed with the ability to problem solve and obtain positive outcomes under pressure.

● The ability to work both independently and as a member of a small team.
● Strong organizational skills.
● Proficiency in Google Docs and Canva preferred.
● Proficiency in social media platforms preferred.
● Ability to create and track towards a budget.
● Nonprofit experience preferred.
Compensation is based on a base rate with incentivized scale.
