Description of Employment Opportunity:
Friends of the Garden Theater (FOGT) is a nonprofit run by a Board of Directors and managed by the Executive Director. Once just a single screen movie house, The Garden has expanded and is now home to year-round programming and events. FGOT is seeking a new member of their team. The Communications Director will report to the Executive Director and work closely with the Manager. The hours will be flexible, and the Communications Director is expected to be highly motivated in forming their own schedule.
Job Responsibilities:
- Check and respond to theater voicemail and general email address.
- Prepare the weekly newsletter and all other mass communications with patrons.
- Manage all social media platforms.
- Draft grant applications.
- Update the website with movie showings, upcoming events, etc.
- Order marketing materials from production companies.
- Assist in the set up and break down for all Garden Theater events.
- Program the ticketing software for all movies and events.
- Act as the volunteer coordinator.
Job Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (Preferred)
- Proven admin or assistant experience.
- Flexible schedule - Must be available to work nights and weekends.
- Possess excellent communication skills both verbally and in writing form with employees, vendors, and visitors.
- Ability to provide friendly and polite customer service.
- Work well independently.
- Must be able to lift 25 pounds and stand on feet for a period of time.
- Familiarity with Google Drive / Google Docs, Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 30 per week
Schedule:
- Evenings as needed
- Weekends as needed
Work Location: Hybrid remote in Frankfort, MI 49635
