Plein Air Frankfort 2024 Artist Registration Open
Plein Air Frankfort sparks up at 9:00 am at the Oliver Art Center on the shores of Betsie Bay. Get into the creative flow, and battle for glory (and prize money)! Your mission: capture the charm of Frankfort’s Victorian houses, the sun-kissed Lake Michigan Beach, or the majestic sailboats in the harbor – all available within the city limits of Frankfort. The choice is yours, but choose wisely: the spoils await at our evening reception, exhibit, and live auction. This fun event will include coffee and breakfast treats, and a VIP reception in our Beck Gallery. Artists will check in by 9:00 am to get their canvases stamped, and then will head out to create their masterpieces. All work must be framed and returned by 3:00pm to Oliver Art Center for judging. Doors will open again for the reception at 5:00pm.
How to participate:
Artist registrations must be submitted by September 14, 2024 at 11:59 PM EDT.
Registration fees are $40 per artist, or $30 if you are a current OAC member.
Registration is non-refundable.
Each artist can submit one entry to be judged in our award presentation.
If you wish to create additional works, those may be eligible for display sale in our evening exhibit.
Artists set their retail prices and will retain 60% of the realized price.
Artwork Requirements:
We accept a variety of media – acrylic, watercolor, pastel, oil, ink, pencil – some combination – whatever you want to use to complete a finished plein air work!
Submitted art must be framed and have gallery wire ready for hanging.
Please limit finished size to no more than 24″ on any side.
