LOCAL LENS: ANNUAL PHOTOGRAPHY EXHIBITION AT CHARLEVOIX CIRCLE OF ARTS-Call for Art

2025— Charlevoix Circle of Arts is excited to announce the opening of the Charlevoix Photography Club 16th Annual Juried Photography Exhibition, beginning Friday, May 9 through Saturday, June 7. This annual celebration of photographic talent is open to all local photographers and current members of the Charlevoix Photography Club.

Photographers are invited to submit their work for consideration—this is an open call, with in-person
submissions accepted on April 29 and 30. Full details and entry guidelines are available at

All entries will be judged while on display in the gallery by featured juror Ragnar Avery, a dedicated photographer who has studied the artform since 2009. Avery is known for creating immersive, memorable, and impactful work. He continues to refine his craft through travel and workshops both nationally and internationally. “I create art because the act nurtures my soul,” says Avery, “and the adventure to capture each
photographic image enriches my life.”

The exhibition features photographs in six categories:
1. Wildlife
2. Creative
3. Landscape
4. Flora
5. Black & White
6. Travel

Cash prizes will be awarded for first, second, and third place in each category. Honorable Mentions may also be
awarded at the discretion of the juror.

The exhibition will be on view Friday, May 9 through Saturday, June 7. An opening reception will take place on
Friday, May 9 from 5–7 p.m., with light refreshments served and awards announced during the event.

This fine art exhibition is free and open to the public, made possible with generous sponsorship support from
