Glen Arbor Art Center 2026 Small Works Exhibit-Call for Art

Looking For

2D and 3D artwork, no larger than 12” in any direction. Emphasis is on work crafted by hand.

Open To

Handmade objects in paper, clay, fiber, metal, wood, glass. Drawing, painting, printmaking, mixed media, photography, weaving, sculpture, stitchery [including knitting, sewing, and other needle arts], and more.

Size Restrictions

Artwork must not exceed 12” in any direction. 3-D work intended to be displayed on a flat surface must be freestanding.

Application Fee

$25 GAAC member, $35 nonmember. This is a nonrefundable fee. 

Sales

The GAAC retains 40% of sales; artist receives 60%.

Exhibition Calendar

  • Exhibition runs: November 5 – December 17, 2026
  • Preview Week: November 5 -12, 2026 
  • Grateful Gathering Reception: November 13, 2026 
  • Apply online: Through September 14 at 2 pm EST
  • Notification of acceptance: Late September
  • Shipped artwork deadline: October 28, 2026
  • Artwork drop-off: Friday, October 30, 9 am – 2 pm; Saturday, October 31, 9 am – noon, 
  • Artwork pick-up: Thursday, December 17, 3 – 5 pm; Friday, December 18, 9 am -2 pm; Saturday, December 19, 9 am – noon

Requirements

  • Exhibitors may show up to 8 objects simultaneously. Please provide images [below, on application] of the work you will exhibbit. NOTE: This must be existing work vs. concepts. Exhibitors may also provide back-up work. This work is held in reserve, and replaces objects as they are sold from the show. Images of back-up work is not required.
  • Work submitted must be one-of-a-kind, innovative, and original in design. Work derivative of other artists, or work created in a workshop or classroom with the collaboration of an instructor is not accepted.
  • Images generated by artificial intelligence cannot be considered. The use of generative artificial intelligence, such as generative fill, to manipulate photos is also disallowed. All parts of the image must have been photographed by the artist who holds the copyright to the work submitted.
  • Work must be gallery ready, when submitted. Paintings and other wall works should be finished or framed. NOTE: If framed, the 12” maximum measurement includes the frame.
  • Please use gallery wire. No saw tooth hanging hardware is allowed. 
  • NOTE: Wet paintings, work submitted on warped canvases, work that has evidence of pet hair, food stains or other marks/detritus that are not an intended part of the composition will not be exhibited. Exhibitors will be asked to bring their accepted work up to gallery-ready standards before they are allowed to be part of the exhibit.
  • No work will be accepted after the dates and times for delivery listed on the prospectus.
  • The artist’s contact email provided on the application must remain active during the submissions and exhibition process. The artist is responsible for checking their email for exhibition acceptance and/or decline, and other information regarding the exhibition.
