The Oliver Art Center presents the Nancy Ingersoll Foster Artist in Residency Program Applications are now OPEN
Supporting artists is at the heart of our mission, and with the generous support of an endowment, we are happy to announce the formation of the Nancy Ingersoll Foster Artist in Residency program in 2025! Nancy Foster has long been a supporter, teacher, and exhibitor at the Oliver Art Center. An accomplished painter working in watercolors, pastels, and oils, she has depicted emotional landscapes and captured unique personal moments from across the country – from Chicago’s streets to the farms of the Midwest, California’s towering trees to aerial views of mountains and fields, Michigan’s dunes to delicate floral still lifes and more. Her dedication to arts education has extended to the development of this new residency program, which will offer a 2-week-long retreat to an artist working in any media to focus on their work and explore all the inspiration and peacefulness that northwest Michigan offers.
The Residency program will take place this year at the stunning Parsons Center for Arts and Sciences, located in Lake Ann, Michigan. Exhibits and workshops will take place at the nearby Oliver Art Center in Frankfort, about 40 minutes drive from the Parsons Center. Both locations are nearby to Traverse City and the Sleeping Bear Dunes coastline of northern Michigan.
2025 Dates of Residency: September 6th - September 20th Parsons Center for Arts and Sciences, Lake Ann MI and Oliver Art Center, Frankfort MI
Applications are being accepted through August 1st, 2025 for the September 2025 Residency.
