MACC Grants
Michigan Arts & Culture Council Grants
Michigan Arts and Culture Council (MACC) coordinates grants to arts and culture organizations, cities and municipalities, and other nonprofit organizations ensuring that every citizen and community in Michigan enjoys the civic, economic and educational benefits of arts and culture. The Council envisions a Michigan where communities celebrate creative expression and every person has access to, or participates in, arts and cultural experiences.
Granting period is October 1 through September 30 each year.

Accepting Applications for FY25
MACC is currently accepting applications for its FY25 grant period.
- Application deadline: July 24, 2024 at 5:00pm EST.
- All submissions: macc.smartsimple.com
Based on eligibility, organizations can apply for one of the two grant programs - Mission Based Support or Experience Based Support.. MACC is now accepting applications in both programs.

Preparing for the FY25 Grant Cycle
To prepare for the upcoming FY25 application cycle, organizations may start collecting the following required documentation:
- Unique Entity ID (UEI) from SAM.GOV
- Charitable Solicitation Registration from Michigan Attorney General
- Important Note: Applicants should NOT upload the solicitation license, but save your organization's repord directly from the Attorney General website. Follow the instructions in the MACC grant guidelines very carefully.
- Section 504 Self-Evaluation Workbook
- Proof of nonprofit status (such as a copy of IRS determination letter)
- Proof the organization is a registered organization in the state of Michigan (including reports to Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs)
- (Optional but encouraged) Claim, update, and complete your organization’s Candid/Guidestar
Organizations intending to apply for FY25 MACC funding opportunities should ensure they are up-to-date on any reports/requirements from previous MACC awards.
Organizations that are current recipients of FY24 MACC funding are reminded to check Final Report deadlines which can be found in the organization’s signed Grant Agreement(s) available in SmartSimple. If the personnel listed on any current grant records have changed (such as Project Director or Authorizing Official), please submit a Grant Change Form in SmartSimple to update.
Final FY24 Grant & Minigrant Guidelines
If you currently have a grant or minigrant from Michigan Arts & Culture Council, including for FY24 (October 1, 2023-September 30, 2024), there are no changes to your funding or your final report requirements.
