Fiscal Sponsorships

The Northwest Michigan Arts & Culture Network can serve as a fiscal sponsor to support opportunities that would otherwise be unavailable to individual artists and culture bearers or community projects and organizations who are not 501c3 nonprofit organizations.

Fiscal sponsorship entitles individual artists and organizations without 501(c)(3) status to apply to funders and donors under the auspices of the Northwest Michigan Arts & Culture Network, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. Fiscal sponsorship is essentially a regranting program for grant awards and contributions to specific pre-approved artists or organizations intended for purposes directly related to the Network’s vision and mission.

Fiscal sponsorship requires that the Northwest Michigan Arts & Culture Network accept programmatic and fiscal responsibility for the applicant. A fiscal management fee will be charged. An application is required which will provide the Network’s board and staff with sufficient information to determine whether or not to accept these responsibilities on behalf of the applicant.

Consultation with the Network is required prior to fiscal sponsorship application and consideration. Requests should be submitted at least six weeks prior to a grant deadline.
