Michigan Arts & Culture Council Minigrants
Michigan Arts & Culture Council (MACC) minigrants are available through Northwest Michigan Arts & Culture Network to Michigan nonprofit organizations, schools and municipalities for arts and cultural projects, professional and organizational development, and school bus trips, arts equipment and art supplies. Granting period is October 1 through September 30 each year.
The Northwest Michigan Arts and Culture Network is the Michigan Arts & Culture Council regrant agency for Region 2 (Antrim, Benzie, Charlevoix, Emmet, Grand Traverse, Kalkaska, Leelanau, Manistee, Missaukee & Wexford).

The following Minigrants are available annually:
Project Minigrants (up to $4,000)
Professional & Organizational Development – “POD” – Minigrants (up to $1,500)
Round 1 Project/POD Deadline: August 3, 2022, 5pm (FY23 Round 1 is past – See Round 2 for Project funding only)
Round 2 Deadline: January 15, 2023, 5pm (FY23 Project Minigrants ONLY, no POD funding available for FY23 Round 2)
School Minigrants
Arts Trek – School Bus Minigrants (up to $500 for transportation to arts & cultural experiences)
School Art Supplies & Equipment Minigrants (up to $1,500)
School Minigrant applications follow the same deadlines (8/3 & 1/15) but use a streamline application.
Must be Michigan accredited PreK-12 educational institutions, including public, non-public and private schools, home school, local and intermediate school districts, regional educational services agencies and accredited Head Start programs.
Informational Webinars, Consults & Drop-in Assistance
NW Michigan Arts & Culture Network presents one-hour webinars and virtual Q&A sessions April – July, by request, or prior to deadlines to review guidelines and assist prospective applicants. Private consultations by phone or Zoom can also be scheduled year-round. Contact arts@nwmiarts.net for information and Zoom link.
Round 2 Webinars and drop-in office hours are available: 11/30, 12/5, 12/12 & 12/14 or by appointment.
Additional MACC Grant Opportunities
Michigan Arts & Culture Council offers several larger grant opportunities annually. These include: Operational Support, Project Support, Capital Improvements, Arts in Education and New Leaders. Link to the MACC site below for specific program guidelines. FY23 applications are now closed – next deadline is 6/1/2022 for funding 10/1/2023 – 9/30/2024.
