Michigan Arts & Culture Council Minigrants

Michigan Arts & Culture Council (MACC) minigrants are available through Northwest Michigan Arts & Culture Network to Michigan nonprofit organizations, schools and municipalities for arts and cultural projects, professional and organizational development, and school bus trips, arts equipment and art supplies. Granting period is October 1 through September 30 each year.

The Northwest Michigan Arts and Culture Network is the Michigan Arts & Culture Council regrant agency for Region 2 (Antrim, Benzie, Charlevoix, Emmet, Grand Traverse, Kalkaska, Leelanau, Manistee, Missaukee & Wexford).

Minigrants – Region 2

The following MACC Minigrants are available annually, administered through the NW MI Arts & Culture Network:

Project Minigrants (up to $4,000)
Supports arts & cultural projects led by nonprofit organizations, schools & municipalities in Northwest Michigan. Guidelines

Professional & Organizational Development – “POD” – Minigrants (up to $1,500)
Supports professional development by individual artists, culture bearers, administrators, arts educators &organizations (i.e. conferences, training, board development & related learning) Guidelines

Additional School Minigrants are available directly through MACC:
Arts Trek – School Bus Minigrants
(up to $500 for transportation to arts & cultural experiences) Guidelines
School Art Supplies & Equipment Minigrants (up to $1,500) Guidelines

Minigrant Deadlines

Round 1: August 3, 2023, 5pm
Round 2: January 15, 2024, 5pm
(Note: Round 2 is NOT guaranteed & will be held ONLY if funding is available after Round 1. To be announced mid-October.)

 

Informational Webinars, Consults & Drop-in Assistance

NW Michigan Arts & Culture Network presents one-hour webinars and virtual Q&A sessions April – July, by request, or prior to deadlines to review guidelines and assist prospective applicants. Private consultations by phone. Zoom or in person can also be scheduled year-round. Contact arts@nwmiarts.net for information and Zoom link.

FY24 webinars, in person training and drop-in office hours will be scheduled May-July or can be arranged by appointment.

Additional MACC Grant Opportunities

Michigan Arts & Culture Council offers several larger grant opportunities annually. These include: Operational Support, Project Support, Capital Improvements, Arts in Education and New Leaders. Link to the MACC site below for specific program guidelines. FY23 applications are now closed – next deadline is 6/1/2022 for funding 10/1/2023 – 9/30/2024.
