Support Team RelaunchesRotary Charities is again offering access to free consulting services to help nonprofits recover from the unique challenges brought on by COVID-19. The former Crisis Support Team was relaunched as the Recovery Support Team reflecting the recovery phase of the pandemic. School Minigrants AvailableAs schools re-open for the year, MCACA has opened up applications for school bus trips, art supplies and art equipment. Schools, including accredited PreK-12 public, non-public, and private schools, home school, local and intermediate school districts, regional educational services agencies and accredited Head Start programs may apply for arts experience field trip transportation grants up to $500, or art supplies and equipment grants, up to $1,500. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis until funds are depleted. More info here. |

Author/Artist at FLOW Event 8/25FLOW – For the Love of Water – will feature author Lynne Heasley and illustrator Glenn Wolff on Wednesday, 8/25, 5:30-6:30 pm, for a virtual book launch of “The Accidental Reef.” With dazzling illustrations from Wolff, the book helps us know the Great Lakes in new ways and grapple with the legacies and alternative futures that come from their abundance of natural wealth. This event will feature the author and the illustrator for a Happy Hour reading and glimpse into the book’s creative collaboration. More info here. |

New Bill Would Aid Creative EconomyThe Creative Economy Revitalization Act (CERA), H.R. 5019, was introduced this past week in Congress. This bipartisan bill is designed to mitigate creative worker displacement, stimulate local creative workforce growth, strengthen connections for local creative small businesses and networks, create a pipeline for new creative jobs, enrich communities, increase access to culture, and invest in creative workers and local economies harmed by COVID-19.
