What is Fall Into the Arts? A regional celebration of arts, culture and creativity plus ongoing promotion for Network members.
Michigan Arts & Culture Council will be holding its September Council Meeting on Friday, 9/22, 1-4 pm at th,e Holland Area Arts Council (150 E Eighth St, Suite 200, Holland, MI 49423). Meeting is open to the public in person or by Zoom (Zoom link here, meeting ID 884 5441 9330). Meeting notice/agenda here
Agenda includes the FY24 Funding Plan. When approved by the Council, the list of all FY24 grant awards will be available on-site and online at the end of the meeting. Minigrants will be announced separately by 9/25.

Arts Midwest is accepting applications for the GIG Fund. Organizations can apply for a grant of up to $4,000 to support programs and activities featuring professional artists. Events can take place anytime between November 2023 and July 2024. New this year: a) limited to orgs with less than $1-million budgets & b) priority to those not funded in past 2 years. Intent to apply due 9/21. More info here.

Munson Healthcare Seeks Art on Youth Mental Health
Submissions are being sought for Munson Healthcare’s “Voices” project—an annual program to raise awareness of important health topics through artwork. This year’s project focuses on youth mental health and we are encouraging pieces that spread truth about mental health—what keeps you well? What do you wish people knew about mental health? Michigan Presenters’ 2023 Fall Gathering: Reawakening Creativity will be held 10/22-23 at the Wharton Center for the Performing Arts in East Lansing. This year’s event will focus on exploring new strategies to “reawaken” our creative sides. Info here

Di Baribeau, was honored at a community reception on 8/24 for her retirement as Executive Director of the City Opera House. In recognition, the City Opera House staircase will be named in her honor. Di is also the Northwest Michigan Arts & Culture Network board treasurer. Kudos & Thank you!
