Kudos! 2021 Virtual Summit a Success What a great day for the Northwest Michigan Arts & Culture Network 2021 Summit. 70 participants, 28 speakers, 9 breakouts, 3 large panels, 1 6-hour Zoom & 0 tech problems! We celebrated resilience, uncertainty and our many pandemic pivots that challenged all in arts and culture to try new paths and partnerships while recovering from this devastating year. Speakers dove into: diversity and inclusion, the urgency of advocacy, the power of partnerships and the role of art in the public space – all with rich discussion and deep insight. Breakouts shared tools, resources and what’s working well while working hard. And, despite not being able to gather in person, we did what Networks do well and is our strength, especially in these COVID times – we shared, we learned, we grew relationships, and we came together to continue using our collective voice to advocate for our artists, organizations, colleagues and communities as we move forward toward recovery. NOTE: A survey to participants will go out soon. Summit recordings and resources will be shared shortly – watch for a new summit resources page next week on www.nwmiarts.org . | |
