April Roundtable Features MACC Speaker 

The Network’s monthly Zoom Roundtable – Tuesday, 4/7 at 10am – will feature guest Alex Flannery, Operational Support Program Manager for Michigan Arts & Culture Council. He will be discussing FY23 MACC grants including new requirements, any updates to the new guideline and resources as well as what’s new at the Council. Alex joined MACC last fall, taking over Operational Support from Jeff Garrett who is now overseeing ADA and Capital Improvements. Bring your questions and well as your own updates to share. UEI Replaced DUNS 4/4

Effective 4/4/2022, UEI (SAM) is now the unique entity identifier for federal funding and MACC grant opportunities. The nine-character Data Universal Numbering System (DUNS) Number is no longer accepted. Learn how to find your UEI within Grant.gov 

Call for 5/6 TC Art Walk Artists

Artists are sought for the Downtown Traverse City Art Walk slated for Friday, May 6, 4-7 pm. The event features a strolling evening with art displays, demos, wine tastings and pop-up activities. Each artist will provide several works to display and is encouraged to be present or provide an artist statement. Artwork may be sold with no commission but artists are asked to keep all on display throughout the event or replenish with other work. If interested, please submit this Google Form or contact arts@nwmiarts.net. Deadline 4/18.

Writers Call: Stories That Heal

Writers and storytellers of all ages are invited to share stories about a hard time you faced or are currently facing, how you were impacted and what helped or is helping you get through it. Anyone who is willing to share their is invited to submit to Stories That Heal, a music, storytelling and community wellbeing project taking place in Benzie County during April-May 2022 as part of the Network’s Community Partnership grant from Arts Midwest and MACC.. Three awards of $50 will be given to stories of honor. Winners will be notified by email or phone. Stories may also be submitted anonymously. Deadline 4/18. Call for Artists: Leland Air

Artists are invited to register for Leland Air 2022 at the Old Art Building in Leland. This annual plein air event is slated for all day Saturday, May 28 with reception beginning 6:30pm that evening. Info and registration link here.

Charlevoix Circle of Arts has several artist opportunities for upcoming exhibitions and events:

TC City Opera House Hosts Emerging Artists 

Five young artists are showcased throughout April at the City Opera House in Traverse City. The Emerging Artists Exhibition showcases new talent, a variety of artwork and is part of the Network’s New Leaders program with funding from MACC. Reception to meet and celebrate artists will be Thursday, 4/14, 5-7pm. 

Young Artist Chillout 4/21

The next Artist Chillout Session is slated for Thursday, 4/21, 6-9pm at Studio Anatomy. Artist Chillouts are also part of the Network’s New Leaders program, offering young artists free and open space to create art with a local DJ dishing out music on the main stage. Space around the stage is converted to art stations to accommodate artists and their craft to draw and paint. Basement Art Show 

The latest Basement Art Show runs 4/18-5/21 at Studio Anatomy in Traverse City featuring functional ceramist Clay Maas and oil realism pater Logan Hudson. Artist reception is 7-9pm on Saturday 4/23. Reception, exhibit info here.
