Welcoming the New Year

Network members are marking the end of 2021 and the start of 2022. 

New Year’s Eve Outside at CTAC-Petoskey

Crooked Tree – Petoskey is ringing in the New Year 6-8pm.Look for festivities outside the CTAC building with music, entertainment, cocoa & cookie stations as well as bonfire pits with s’mores kits, a DJ on the plaza, and plenty of family-friendly fun. All activities and refreshments are free. Info here

MLAP Plans 1/1 Snow Shoe Hike

Join Michigan Legacy Art Park’s executive director Angie Quinn for a January 1st Snowshoe Hike at 11am to explore art and nature! Kids are free. Adults are $5/suggested donation. Info here.

ArtisT Table Call for Entries

Announcing the ArtisTTable’s 43rd online exhibition: ALL MEANS ALL: Every Color, Every Gender. This all-media open-themed show is open to all artists of all genders, colors, and creeds. Artists may submit up to 5 images for $25. Submission deadline is 12/31/2021. Info/register here.

Alpena Wildlife Sanctuary Residency

Artists are invited to apply for the 2022 artist-in-residence program at Alpena Wildlife Sanctuary. This residency includes living two weeks in July or August, 2022 at a Victorian carriage house with studio. Artist will be asked to create one original piece of work representative of nature in their preferred medium for public display, and to provide at least one public demonstration or teaching regarding their process during the residency.  Info/application, contact Sheridan Waldrop, Residency Program Coordinator at inspiringwordswriting@gmail.com. 

Northport Arts Accepting Proposals for Classes, Teachers

Traditional Arts Apprenticeships

MI Heritage Awards Nominees 

The Michigan Traditional Arts Program is seeking applicants for the 2022 apprenticeship program and nominees for the Michigan Heritage Awards. These two programs are supported by the National Endowment for the Arts. Minigrant Deadline 1/15

Webinars 1/5, 1/12 at 10am

MCACA Round 2 deadline for minigrant projects up to $4,000 is 1/15/2022 at 5pm. Drop-in Q&A sessions and webinars are available at 10am on Wednesdays, 1/5 and 1/12/2022 at 10am via Zoom.  Info, guidelines and links, hereZoom link here.
