Are You Community Building With the Arts?

Apply for MCACA & Arts Midwest Community Partnership Grants

Those of us in arts and culture know that our work can be a bridge to bring our communities together to address issues, build understanding and create positive change. Community building is the focus of the new Community Partners grant program offered by Michigan Council for Arts & Cultural Affairs & Arts Midwest. Applications are open through 11/1 for projects taking place 1/1/2022 – 6/15/2022. Awards range from $10,000-20,000.

The program is focused on strengthening communities by encouraging them to work collaboratively with artists and culture bearers to explore local issues, where collaborative art-making is integral to daily lives and is valued as a tool for community development.

Grant guidelines are available here.

There are many possibilities. There is also a short timeline. For those in northern Michigan, are you interested in learning more, brainstorming and inviting partners to discuss? The Network is will host an informal zoom – with breakout rooms if needed – to get the discussions started and share grant info on Monday, 10/18 at 1:30pm.
Bring your ideas and your questions …. and let’s see what grows. It would be great to see many applications coming from “up north!”  LINK TO JOIN 10/18 ZOOM HERE

MCACA is also hosting workshops on 10/20 & 10/29:
