Good Hart Artist Residency and Crooked Tree Arts Center Celebrate a Decade of Collaboration The Good Hart Artist Residency (GHAR) was established in 2013 in partnership with Crooked Tree Arts Center (CTAC) to create a home for artists to exercise their creativity in the idyllic surroundings of Northern Michigan. A decade later, the residency has hosted over 80 residents to date, and is a strong independent arts non-profit that continues to foster relationships with artists and community partners. In celebration, CTAC’s Gilbert and Bonfield galleries will host a show titled Art + Place + Community: 10 Years with Good Hart Artist Residency, 9/16-11/4. The exhibit contains works from GHAR alumni, including visual artists, writers, and composers, highlighting the unique breadth of creative work that has been supported by the residency over the past decade. Opening events on 9/16 at CTAC-Petoskey include: - A watercolor workshop, led by GHAR alum Lindsey Dunnagan, at 2-4pm
- A panel discussion, Artist Residencies Demystified: What Are They and How Do They Benefit Artists and Communities? at 4pm
- A celebratory reception, 5:30-7:30, featuring galley exhibitand readings by GHAR poets and writers.
