Zoom Chat Recap: Focus On Fundraising
The Network’s 11/5 roundtable featured fundraising consultant and Rotary COVID19 Crisis Support Team member Christie Perdue, CFRE who presented and fielded Q&A on fund development at year-end and especially during this time of significant COVID-impacted challenges. Additional resources and strategies were shared by networks attendees. A few takeaways and resource reminders:
Fundraising tips & resources shared:
Ask! Do not pull back on fund development during COVID. Continue your fund development work.
Year end – combine print and online strategies. Research shows donors are three times more likely to respond to a mailed solicitation with an online donation. Many donations occur during the last week of December. Consider capacity when deciding whether to pursue a Giving Tuesday
Reach out – to all spheres including Donors, Patrons & Value stakeholders. It was noted that patrons are often overlooked.
Segmentation – Tailor solicitation to specific segments – i.e. donor levels, volunteers, etc.
Onboarding – Remember ongoing stewardship of donors. It’s important to onboard new donors.
Donor management software – Many are used locally, including Salesforce, Donor Perfect, Raisers Edge, Wild Apricot, among others.TechSoup offers discounted access to several options.
