Celebrate Arts Education – 9/11-17

National Arts in Education Week is a national celebration recognizing the transformative power of the arts in education. Passed by Congress in 2010, the celebration is designated to bring attention to arts education and to support equitable access to the arts for all students. National Arts in Education Week takes place annually on the second Sunday of September. Link to AFTA for Info, Tools

Call for Executive Director Candidates, Due 9/19

Elizabeth Lane Oliver Center for the Arts in Frankfort has an immediate need for a highly
motivated and creative arts administrator to lead its continued growth. The position of Executive Director
offers a unique opportunity to have a tangible impact on the creative and educational culture of

Old Art Building Seeks Executive Director, Due 10/1

Call for Community Art

The Ramsdell Regional Center for the Arts in Manistee is inviting the public to participate in our art fundraising project ~ Community Art2. Artists of all ages and artistic abilities are invited to join in creating a wall of small canvases to be exhibited in Hardy Hall Gallery, and available for sale during the winter holidays. Participants must register, pick up a canvas and then return it by 10/29. Proceeds benefit RRCA’s grassroots programming. Info here.

 

Northport Arts Association Call for Potters

Northport Arts Association will be holding its first Clay Studio Pottery Exhibit and Sale on 10/7-9 and is accepting applications from clay artists. Info and apply here.
 

Call for Contemporary Art

Commongrounds & The Alluvion are seeking exhibition and installation proposals for their new facilities in Traverse City.  Deadline 10/15. $25 fee. All mediums including traditional, public art, installations, conceptual art, performance art, new media. Info/Apply here

Call for Arts Escape Teaching Artists

Arts for All of Northern Michigan’s Art Escapes program provides arts and cultural workshops to Northwest Education Services classrooms in Traverse City including special ed, alternative ed, and general ed. These workshops are aimed at enhancing classroom goals and providing tools for healthy self expression through art, music, creative movement, and drama. Teaching artists are needed. Info here.
 

Sonder DEI Town Hall 9/16

Join Sonder DEI with guest facilitator Darlene King from the Michigan Diversity Council for a Sonder DEI Town Hall on 9/16, 9-11am at 20 Fathoms in Traverse City or via Zoom. This will be a chance to have our regional community connect with statewide and national efforts while being able to connect with one of the most impactful national leaders in DEI. LINK

 

Work of Art Workshop
10/7-8 @ Dennos

The Network is partnering with Northwestern Michigan College to present business skills for artists training using the Springboard for the Arts “Work of Art” curriculum.  Two-day workshop, 10/7-8, at the Dennos Museum Center and digital delivery.
