OAC Seeks Program Assistant
Immediate Opening for Part-Time Professional Staff
The Oliver Art Center in Frankfort has immediate need of a trustworthy professional part-time staff member with excellent
interpersonal skills to oversee its facilities on evenings and weekends, during OAC events, weddings, and other facility
rental functions.
Required Responsibilities
Front Desk – interacting with patrons, providing artist and area information in addition to OAC information, selling
merchandise in the gift shop, answering the phone and other administrative tasks.
Events – assisting with planning, set up, and implementation of OAC’s various programs, events, and rentals.
Exhibitions – managing gallery during evening and/or weekend hours, assisting with intake or pickup of artwork,
supporting installing of artwork (including hanging artwork and placing sculptures weighing up to 50 lbs.), placing event
signs in community, setting up refreshments for receptions, interacting with patrons and artists.
Other Considerations
The ideal candidate will be friendly and outgoing, will have a track-record of working unsupervised in challenging
circumstances, will be very detail oriented, and will be careful to ensure the safety of OAC facilities, its patrons, and its
artworks.
Candidate must also be comfortable with technology such as Google Calendar, Email, and using a computer register.
Candidate must be comfortable with the use of hand tools, ladder work, and light cleaning and maintenance as needed.
This position averages 15-20 hours per week (with variation depending on season and task). The position works mostly
weekends and evenings, with some weekday shifts possible.
Preferred Skills and Qualifications
Experience with galleries, museums, office environments, customer service, or events.
Compensation – Hourly position, starting at $15 per hour.
