Register Here The Northwest Michigan Arts & Culture Network partnering with Interlochen Public Radio will host a workshop on creating and pitching media stories about the arts on Tuesday, August 25, 4pm, via Zoom.
The online workshop will include an overview of media storytelling and explore the nuts and bolts of what makes a compelling recorded story – including content needs, structure and technical considerations as well as tips in framing a story, identifying interview sources and “pitching” it to reporters, bloggers, podcasters and various media sources. Training will be led by Interlochen Public Radio Executive Director Peter Payette and the Red Pine Radio community journalists’ team.
Participants are invited to prepare their own arts and culture story ‘pitches’ to present to the Red Pine Radio team. No prior experience is needed.
The workshop is open to individual artists, arts and cultural organizations, venues, galleries and other creative businesses in northern Michigan. There is no charge to attend but registration is required at https://nwmiarts.org/media-pitch-workshop or visit www.nwmiarts.org. A Zoom link will be sent to registrants prior to the session.
The Media Pitch Workshop and Northwest Michigan Arts & Culture Network is supported, in part, by Michigan Council for Arts and Cultural Affairs.
