Register Here There’s still time to register for Interlochen Public Radio’s session on creating and pitching media stories about the arts on Tuesday, August 25, 4pm, via Zoom.
The online workshop will include an overview of media storytelling and explore the nuts and bolts of what makes a compelling recorded story – including content needs, structure and technical considerations as well as tips in framing a story, identifying interview sources and “pitching” it to reporters, bloggers, podcasters and various media sources. Training will be led by Interlochen Public Radio Executive Director Peter Payette and the Red Pine Radio community journalists’ team. Participants are invited to prepare their own arts and culture story ‘pitches’ to present to the Red Pine Radio team. . There is no charge to attend but registration is required at https://nwmiarts.org/media-pitch-workshop
Spring 2020 would have marked the 5th annual NW Michigan Arts & Culture Summit, a day of networking, learning and exploring opportunities at Interlochen Center for the Arts. Unfortunately, the May 2020 summit was cancelled due to the pandemic. As COVID-19 continues to impact all of us and our programs, please help the Network re-envision how we present and plan future Summits as well as workshops, best practice roundtables or other gatherings – virtual or in person – during the year ahead. This is a very short, three-minute survey. Please participate. Thank you!
