The Gordon Lightfoot Tribute

The Gordon Lightfoot Tribute’s 2024 Tour, “Lightfoot – The Stories, The Songs,” features the Canadian icon’s classic radio hits along with popular album cuts particular to the artist’s early writings of lost love and heartbreak. The songs are accompanied by stories of how the songs were inspired and written in a stunning multi-media presentation that features Lightfoot himself, giving first-hand accounts of his songwriting inspiration. Audiences will learn fascinating back stories and more of the songs written by Canada’s poet laureate in Mike Fornes’ portrayal of Gordon Lightfoot. On stage, he demonstrates his love of a genre of timeless music that captured millions during the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s. His storytelling brings the songs to life. The Gibson B-45 12-string and Martin D-18 guitars Mike uses in concert are identical to the ones played by Gordon Lightfoot on stage. The tour’s stage set, lighting effects, instrumentation, clothing and mannerisms are identical to those presented by Gordon Lightfoot, live in concert. This remarkable program pays tribute to the artist’s legacy of music, songwriting and history as a performer.
