Preserving Local Voices: Oral History Workshop Coming to Benzie County

The Elberta Labor Heritage Center and the Benzie Area Historical Society invite community members, educators, students, and history enthusiasts to a special Oral History Workshop.

Presented by the Michigan Oral History Association (MOHA), this hands-on, half-day workshop is designed to empower participants with the skills and tools to record and preserve the voices and memories of Benzie County’s rich and diverse past.

Workshop Topics Include:

Preparing for interviews

Asking insightful and respectful questions

Developing release forms

Transcribing and using interviews

Conducting remote interviews

Archiving and sharing stories
