Indigenous Lino-Cut Workshop

Printmaking has long been used to advocate for societal change, condemn fascist governments, and extend solidarity across marginalized communities. It’s an art form with a long history of makers who were outspoken about injustice within their communities and beyond. Now as our right to speak freely has come under more and more attacks is precisely why we need to be taking up new ways to express our views and fight back against fascism.

In this workshop, printmaking artist Jamie John will instruct, guide, and demonstrate how to make a block print from concept to completion. By the end of the workshop participants will be walking away with a better knowledge in composing striking visuals and be able to keep their very own designed and carved block that can be printed over and over again on paper or fabric.
