Handmade Basketry Holiday Ornaments Workshop

Each class member will be guided in the creation of a one-of-a-kind ornament to take home, possibly two if we have time). We will cover basic construction, spoke layout, twining, and triple twining. You will learn how to control the shape and color patterns of your ornament, as well as finishing the top and adding a hanging device. We will be working with hand-dyed and natural reed, which will be provided in numerous colors. Participants are encouraged, (but not required), to bring a plastic dishpan or tub, a flat blade screwdriver, a pair of needle nose pliers, and a pair of nippers (or strong scissors/garden snips/side cutters). Limited class size-15, Ages 15 and up.
