An Unforgettable Journey “Tango YES!—Music of Argentine composer Luis Jorge González”

Paul Erhard, double bass, and Alejandro Cremaschi, piano, will present a program that combines beautiful melodies and spicy tango rhythms by composer Luis González, who they knew personally and collaborated with for many years as faculty colleagues in the University of Colorado College of Music. The program will summarize González’ journey in this world. It will include some of his most beautiful tonal, Argentinian inspired music of his early years with the Wanderer’s Songs. Erhard and Cremaschji will introduce his stylized, dreamy take on the tango in his Arioso. They will visit the peak of his midlife with the intense, folk-inspired but intensely powerful Sonata del Plata, and finally Luis’ late love for the tango style in the virtuosic and passionate Chacona Tangante
