NW MI Arts & Culture Network
Registration Opens for DEI Series
Northwest Michigan Arts & Culture Network is hosting the Journey Theatre Project for a deep dive three-part DEI workshop led by Esther Triggs, Journey Theatre Project Co-founder and Interlochen Center for the Arts Director of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion. Esther and her colleagues will lead three 3-hour sessions:
- Thursday, 11/10: Race and You (9am) & Dress Rehearsal for Change (1pm)
- Monday, 1/30/23: Necessary Conversations (9am)
The Journey Theatre Project provides an embodied approach to diversity, equity and anti-racism. Participants will learn about implicit bias and systemic racism, understand the concepts, and will leave with actionable tools that can be readily implemented. All is done effectively and positively in a safe environment. Sessions will be offered by Zoom for greater accessibility throughout the Network’s 10-county service area and our colleagues across northern Michigan.
This deep dive training is usually not available or easily accessible in Northern Michigan. Thanks to grant support from the Grand Traverse Regional Community Foundation DEI Fund and the Rotary Charities Learning Fund, the Network is able to offer participation at no cost to Network members and for a nominal fee to non-members (with ability to apply fee toward membership).
