Our Mission: The mission of the Northwest Michigan Arts & Culture Network is to harness the collective power of the creative sector to cultivate vibrant communities by strengthening the ecosystem that supports arts and culture.
Our Work: We are a regional network for individual artists, nonprofit organizations, private sector ‘creative industry’ businesses, professional services, policymakers and other “creatives” within Antrim, Benzie, Charlevoix, Emmet, Grand Traverse, Kalkaska, Leelanau, Manistee, Missaukee and Wexford. Activities focus on services, capacity building and strengthening the “ecosystem’ that supports arts, culture and the creative sector. Activities specifically focus on:
- Connecting members and communities with each other, to resources and opportunities
- Advocacy and promotion for arts and culture in northern Michigan
- Funding opportunities, including MCACA Regional Regrant
- Learning resources and professional development
- Artist support
- ‘Backbone’ services
Our Region: The Northwest Michigan Arts and Culture Network is located in Grand Traverse County, Michigan. The geographic scope of its activities is focused on the ten-county region of Northwest Michigan including Antrim, Benzie, Charlevoix, Emmet, Grand Traverse, Kalkaska, Leelanau, Manistee, Missaukee, and Wexford counties. There are close to 200 arts and cultural organizations and more than 2,000 individual artists, writers, performers, and other creatives who pursue their practice in northern Michigan.
